Characteristics: The narrow sapwood is creamy white to yellow and the heartwood is pale yellowish brown to reddish brown. The weight of the timber is about 510 kg/m3 when dried. Very similar in appearance to SA Pine.

 

Working Qualities: The timber works easily and well. The wood is capable of a smooth, clean finish and can be glued, stained, varnished and painted satisfactorily. It takes nails and screws well.

 

Uses: Construction work, joinery, furniture, turnery and house building.
