Characteristics: The colour of the heartwood varies from pale yellowish brown to dark reddish brown. The grain is typically straight, the texture coarse and the wood weighs about 510 kg/m3 when dried.
Working qualities: Works easily and generally finishes cleanly. The timber can be glued satisfactorily and takes nails and screws well.
Uses: Joinery and panelling, general construction and boats.
