Characteristics: The heartwood is pinkish to light red brown, while the sapwood is whitish grey brown. It has an even grain with figured patterns. It has a fine texture. It weighs about 790 Kg / m3 when dried.
Working Qualities: It is easy to work, sand, glue and turn. The timber polishes fairly well. The timber screws well, but need to be predrilled for nailing.
Uses: Boat building, cabinetmaking, furniture, flooring, joinery, kitchen cabinets, veneer.
