Characteristics: The Sapwood is narrow and whitish in colour, while the heartwood is mainly yellowish, varying from yellow-brown - Yellow-pink.  The wood is lustrous, with a strain grain and fine, uniform texture.  The wood is hard, heavy, tough and strong and weighs from 800 - 960 kg.m3 when dry.

 

Working Qualities: Easy to work, finishing smoothly. Might need to pre-drill nails and screws.

 

Uses: Construction, decking and canoes.
