Characteristics: The Heartwood is deep brownish red, while the sapwood is whitish-yellow. It has an even grain, with medium to course texture. Wavy patterns are numerous. The timber weighs about 850 kg/m3 when dry.
Working Qualities: Very easy to work, sand and glue. Takes nails and screws well.
Uses: Boat building, Cabinetmaking, carvings, flooring, furniture, joinery, musical instruments and turnery.
